🕊️ Before any bird goes in — ventilate 24–48 hours. Assemble the cabinet, then leave it in a well-aired room for one to two days before introducing birds. Do this even though the finish is applied only to exterior surfaces. If you can still smell anything at all, wait longer.
1. Before you start
This model ships in two cartons, each under 50 lb — cabinet base and enclosure. Check the parts list on pages 2–3 of the manual before you start.
People: 1 · Time: about 30 minutes · Tools: none required — clip assembly, with a hex key included for the legs only. Lay the parts out by their marked letters first; the doors and drawer rails arrive already fitted.
2. Cabinet base
Stand the base upright on a flat floor and fit the four legs with the supplied hex key. Check the cabinet does not rock before going further — everything above depends on this being level.
3. Enclosure onto base
Lift the mesh enclosure onto the base and press down until the four corner clips engage. You should hear each one seat. Tug upward gently to confirm all four are locked.
4. Doors, latches and seed guard
The doors ship fitted. Close each one and check the two-point latch engages fully and the magnetic closure pulls it flush. Confirm the seed-guard skirt sits tight to the enclosure floor all the way round.
5. Liner, tray and drawers
Slide the stainless liner in from the front until it stops, then fit the pull-out pan beneath it. Run each of the four drawers fully in and out once to confirm the rails are free.
6. Safety check before use
Walk round the finished cabinet and confirm: no gap anywhere exceeds 1/2"; both latches hold when pushed from inside; no fastener protrudes into the enclosure; the liner sits flat with no exposed edge. Then ventilate as above before any bird goes in.
